Doug Stanhope on DMT

  1. I have read ,and re-read,Dr. Strassman's "DMT: The Spirit Molecule" along with Graham Hancock's "Supernatural" and 4 of Mr. McKenna's major works. I have never had the DMT experience (not from lack of WANTING to), but I can confirm their words on their respective findings, especially the odd but intriguing phenomenon that nearly all the willing subjects, most with dissimilar backgrounds and cultural milieus, report with striking consistency the SAME basic experience....that is, "seeing" the same type of beings (McKenna's 'machine elves), the same process of vocal-producing realities, the same foreign-to-our-normal-experience SupraReality....a glittering, somehow machine-like Otherworld. In short, the similarities, like the Good Doctors have said, are jaw-dropping and mind-blowing. These are NOT hallucinations produced in our brains, nor are they Jungian 'collective-conciousness' archetypes: I'm convinced the DMT experience is a visit to a wholly independent (perhaps parallel?) Universe....a "NotherWorld" of sorts.
Again, I have not personally DMT'd, and although reading over a dozen books on the subject does not make me the expert these repectable gentlemen psychnauts are, I do feel I have a fairly good grounding in the subject just from pure research. We are NOT alone, folks. Awe-inspiring, wondrous fascinating....and nothing in the least to be afraid of.
